Ed Deabler - Senior Minister

            Ed Deabler was born in Chambers County, Alabama, in the Chattahoochee Valley.  His maternal grandparents lived in Lanett, which remained his home base as his parents moved often around the Southeast.  Ed attended Lanett High School for two years and Smith’s Station High School for another two years, graduating from there in 1970.  He attended Southern Union Junior College for a year before transferring to Auburn University where he became engaged to Nancy.  They commuted from Lanett to Auburn together and worked for West Point Pepperell Mill while pursuing degrees in education.  They did their student teaching together and graduated in 1975.

             Ed taught special education and coached both junior varsity and varsity football at Tallassee High School from 1975 until 1983 when he felt the call to preach.  He attended Emory University’s Candler School of Theology from 1983 until 1986 when he received a Master of Divinity Degree.  Ed served two churches in Opelika while attending Emory, Community and Pepperell United Methodist Churches.  He has served on several boards and agencies in the Alabama-West Florida Conference.  Ed enjoys fishing when he has an opportunity. He and Nancy have a daughter, Taylor Cathryn, who is in seventh grade. 

 

 
Jason Gregg – Director of Youth and Children

    Jason is the Director of Children/Youth Education. Jason grew up in Notasulga Al, and moved to Montgomery Al in Jan 1999. He joined Dalraida UMC in the spring of 2000 and was called to help with youth ministry in 2001. He became Director of Youth and  Children in Aug 2004. Hobbies include collecting books, listening to Frank Sinatra records, and traveling to the mountains of western North Carolina.


 
Rodney Hamilton - Director of Music Ministries

    Rodney is the director of music ministries at Dalraida United Methodist Church. He has been a staff member for fifteen years. Hamilton has a BA in music education with a major in voice and a minor in piano.


 
Jill Farris – Director of Children’s Choir

 
Jim Sadie – Organist

    Jim is the organist for Dalraida United Methodist Church. He has two degrees, including one in organ performance and composition. Sadie has been the organist at Dalraida United Methodist Church for more than 10 years.


 
Jane Fry – Financial Secretary

    Jane has worked in the church office for 10 years, first as church secretary and now as church financial secretary.


 
Jane Hitchcock

    Jane has served as church secretary since June 1998. She is a retired English teacher.

 
Deborah Hutto

    After 25 years, Deborah Hutto retired from Montgomery Public Schools in November 2001.Then she worked as a tutor at Huntington Learning Center until 2006. She began working as a part-time secretary at Dalraida United Methodist Church in November 2006.
